My late husband Jack and I were taking care of my mom at the time .She took daily walks both am and pm and we had gone around the corner of a street ,maybe two streets away passing by an empty lot .I estimate the time between 5:30pm and 6pm.So approaching dusk and now we were about 20 feet from the fence surrounding it and out of a shadow this enormous black dog appears .like the size of a huge great Dane but pitch black and the head of a wolf and what looked like glowing eyes..it traveled the length of the fence turning its massive head at us… “Omg did you see that?” I gasped. I can tell you it was so black and terrifying looking we were shocked.
We had heard stories of strange phenomena in Sedona. At first I thought oh its a stray dog but it was Huge and its body must have been what looked like 7 feet in length and just enormous in breadth and width. Its legs were huge as well and it just appeared in the most frightening way. Just walking in her neighborhood like it was stalking us.
We only saw it for a few minutes but it was freaky to say the least and it moved swiftly in a strange hulking gait along the fence… perhaps guarding the property ? I don’t know ,but you just ran an article about hellhounds and this creature was about as close to that I can remember. That did not look like any dog I’d ever seen. But like that huge black dog in Harry Potter. Really weird.
Just had to share this because you think oh I’m imagining this but seeing the huge back shape and hearing it walking through the bushes. You feel you are witnessing the unexplained.
