“Prescott is surrounded by national forest on two or three sides. The area near Thumb Butte is a very dreamlike atmosphere. My 2011 sighting was confirmed by a family in 2018. I was at Thumb Butte Road in Prescott at the city limits sign on my bike.
Suddenly, 2-3 houses in front of me (100 feet or less) was a 4-legged creature that was as big as a horse. It had four long legs like a horse. It immediately tensed up its whole body, ready to fight if necessary. Its face was round. Brown/beige fur. The fur formed a shaggy beard, almost mountain man-like. It was long at the chin and cheeks. I was on bicycle.
I hopped off and slowly walked backwards. Then I found another route to town. It was 3pm in 2011. Most people on that road aren’t home at that hour. It’s very quiet. In 2018, may friend told me that his neighbor saw the same creature near Thumb Butte in the forest. His kids saw it, and he didn’t believe them. They pointed this creature out, and he saw it, too. Same description. Horse-size and the other features.”

I live just north of Prescott about 25 minutes from this area. I am engaged in searching for this amazing creature I have surnamed “Clovis”. I will report back any findings.
I submitted the info for the above article. The second sighting by the family was also on Thumb Butte Rd, but within the national forest. They live in a house a little past the White Rock Trailhead if you’re coming in from town. My friend who is friends with them told me at White Rock Trailhead about their sighting. He pointed “Over there” to give me a general sense of where they lived, and I believe he said they lived on Thumb Butte Rd.
.. And the photo is inaccurate. The head is round like a cat. It has a chomper, meaning it doesn’t eat grass. It eats animals. The fur sticks out in all directions on the face. Really messy, and it’s also brown fur. And it really knows how to do a mean facial expression.
… And REALLY expressive eyes, like a cat or a human. And that man and his kids weren’t neighbors of my friend. If I wrote that they were his neighbors, that was a brain fart. My friend lived near city limits, where I saw “Clovis.” That family was a little past White Rock Trail Head like I said in a comment. Be careful if you see it. It was very hostile and in lunging position.
I am doing my doctorate degree in Para-Anthropology (study of the effect of the paranormal on the human condition) and will be doing courses in Cryptozoology as part of the degree program. I live in PV so would love to be able to do my research on your “Clovis” locally. If you have any more information or if I might contact you for interviews would you be available?
Does anyone know how it got the name “Clovis?” Is there some significance there? Thank you for any information you can provide as to how he got his name.
