NCS Case File 27

The Oxford English Dictionary defines the word cryptid as “An animal whose existence or survival is disputed or unsubstantiated, such as the yeti.”  For the following witnesses to living cryptids, there is no dispute.  In this series of National Cryptid Society’s case files, you will read what the witnesses have experienced in their own words.

Keep an open mind when reading these accounts, and also remember one’s perception and memory of an event can be influenced by the emotions felt at the time of the occurrence. The contributors to this series of articles are doing the best they can to recount what are in some cases very shocking and traumatic experiences.

NCS Case File #27: Bigfoot sighted in Pinecrest Campground near Strawberry, California

Location: Pinecrest Campground near Strawberry, CA

“About four to five years ago my step-daughter and I went camping in Pinecrest camp ground near strawberry California.  [We] saw 16 inch foot prints and 4-5 feet apart and 1/4 – 1/2 inch deep it had sprinkled rain [ and the ground had softened] the day before that’s why foot print was deep.

We hiked for about an hour from the camp ground and on the other side of the pond was what looked like a part-man part-gorilla standing between two pine trees. He had one arm extended high on one tree and other arm on another tree and was looking right at me. I asked my step-daughter to give me binoculars and she said “for what?” I did not tell her why.

As I focused on Bigfoot he took off to his right. I did not tell her of Bigfoot because I did not want to scare her, end of story.”
